Overseas presents an overview of the artist's landscape photographs since the mid-1970s. The book focuses on his eponymous project (1995-2004), which deals with questions of colonialism. It is the images of everyday places and their representation in public spheres that the photographer traces in Australia, Greece, Great Britain, Guyana, India, Ireland, Canada, Lesotho, Malaysia, Namibia, New Zealand, South Africa, Suriname, Tanzania, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda and the United States of America.
Parallel to this, the South African writer Ivan Vladislavic develops short stories in his text "City Centre", which orientate themselves in their mood towards the images without wanting to interpret them.
