Publisher's description
Invited by the GwinZegal Art Center, the English photographer Mark Neville chose to take as his starting point his project, the supporters of the En Avant de Guingamp football club, to then paint a much broader portrait of the inhabitants of Guingamp and surroundings. His work reveals a society crossed by incredible diversity and richness. If it is imbued with an all English documentary concern, as close to the roughness of the world, it also reveals a great subjectivity in the choice of its models and the way of representing them. The artist deliberately stages them with a clever play of light, to the point of making us doubt the veracity of the situations and the ability of photography to represent the world in an objective manner.
