Publisher's description
A picture can perhaps not change the world, but it can increase our understanding of it. In True Russia, Ukrainian-born photographer Alexander Petrosyan takes us on a journey through the lives of the inhabitants of St Petersburg. His ambition is to stop the beholder in their tracks and make them wonder what is really happening.
Alexander Petrosyan was born in 1965 in Lviv, Ukraine. He started capturing the street life of St Petersburg at age 14. He is internationally regarded as one of the most original photographers in Russia and his absurd and compassionate images – full of dark humour and social criticism – have garnered him multiple awards.
