Publisher's description

'I'm very excited to announce my next book Yosemite: Sanctuary in Stone. My first Yosemite book, Yosemite: The Promise of Wildness, was published in 1994 and went out of print recently. Now it is finally time to realize this project I dreamed of 20 years ago. Yosemite: Sanctuary in Stone is a personal collection of photographs reflecting 46 years of dedication to this wonderous landscape. Living here, photographing Yosemite and its vicinity, I have been working towards this dream for much of my lifetime.

I have written a new essay about my 46-year tenure living in or next to Yosemite and selected words from writers and photographers who have inspired me over the decades. My long-time friend, the exceptional photographer and essayist Guy Tal has written an original essay for the book. I am so honored to have his contribution.

After working with many publishers for my previous books, this project will be self-published, a first for me and allowing me complete control. As in my past two books, the book design and reproduction quality will be of exceptional printing standards..
